| Message: | All credit to those who have persevered over a long period of time to get this walkway/cycleway installed. Well done. However I have to agree with CA that the surface is too rough and unsafe for road bikes. Furthermore the rough chipseal won't get worn down by cars and is already holding a lot of broken glass which causes bike punctures. In the future we really need to press for concrete or hotmix cycleways which are smooth enough for road bikes and smooth enough that the rain can wash away glass splinters |

| Message: | I attended the community meeting in December and was suitably impressed when the new mayor, Penny Webster, addressed us and promised the "long awaited" clipons were only delayed by the arrival of a post-driving barge, first week in January we were assured, well . . . as you can all see, NOTHING, so much for promises and how much Rodney values our "outrateous" [pun intended] rates.

| OBC Reply: | We have followed up with the engineers on the project and they advise that while they are very embarrassed, the contractor advises that the barge is delayed on a job at Great Barrier Island. We hope to have an update on Monday 21 January 2008.
It is difficult to blame the RDC or the engineer as a pile driving barge is not something that you can go to the local hire company and rent.

| Message: | I commend the great work and commitment here of the community group to get this project and many others completed. One of the many things I find appealing about Omaha is the community of people who are prepared to work hard to keep councils honest, get our fair share of funding, and build the type of community that we all want to live in. Once again thank you from our family. I feel proud to be part time Omaha resident and part of this great traditional NZ community.

| Message: | The cycleway is great but is not a smooth surface for riding a bike on. I have noticed that a few riders are still riding on the road instead of the cycleway which confirms my viewpoint. Better the cycleway than nothing though. |

| Message: | Pleasantly surprised to see the marker posts in place on the walkway.
Another project almost complete and time to move on to the next one.
It would be great to see the Estuary Seawall moved along and I am happy to help if assistance is required |
